Zero Harm Management
Hiway Group employs a General Manager – Zero Harm who is supported by dedicated team of zero harm advisors , all of whom are focussed on ensuring the business achieves its stated objectives in relation to Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental Performance.
Our commitment to maintaining and supporting this function within our business enables our management and technical teams to deliver exceptional results on each project, with as little risk as possible.
Zero Harm Culture
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is at the heart of our Zero Harm systems.
An unrelenting focus on maintaining the highest Health and Safety Standards has enabled the business to meet the Tertiary Status requirements for ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices (WSMP). This certification is the highest level possible in New Zealand and has only been achieved by a select few organisations.
At an individual level, every Hiway Group employee undertakes appropriate training for their role using the ‘Site Safe’ and ‘Operate Safe’ accreditation system and our in-house ‘Team up to Hiways’ and more recently our industry leading ‘Zero Harm 2’ training programmes. All staff are also given regular Health and Safety and First Aid training, and receive regular health check-ups as a benefit of their employment.
